Graduation is here and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate with you! As you prepare for the big day, we ask that you are familiar with all of the information provided here. This will help to ensure graduation is a successful celebration of all of YOUR hard work at St. Ben’s!

Following Mass: Regalia Return & Reception

  • The Academic Office takes care of ordering the official graduation invitation for all graduates. Ordering information is typically sent at the beginning of March. Invitations cost $1.25 each.

  • SJSC provides regalia for all of the graduates each year. When arriving in Borromeo Hall, you will go to the Academic Office storage room (next to the laundry facilities) to obtain your regalia from the Academic Office Assistant. You will then proceed to B1 to dress for the Graduation Mass. All regalia with the exception of your cap and tassel must be returned to the Academic Office Assistant immediately following the ceremony. You may keep the cap and tassel.

  • Graduates are awarded one of the following:

    Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and the Liberal Arts (traditional 4 year program)

    Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Theological Studies (traditional 2 year transfer program)

    Certificate of Completion in Pre-Theology (post baccalaureate certificate)

    During the ceremony, each graduate will receive their diploma along with a personalized diploma cover. Those earning a certificate will receive their certificate and a diploma cover with the SJSC seal. Diplomas will indicate the degree awarded , but not the major. The major and additional degree information is included on the official school transcript.

  • All graduates are required to be back on campus by Thursday, May 11th at 10:00PM.

  • Friday, May 12, 2022 at 9:00AM

    Rehearsal should last approximately one hour. All graduates will meet under the Pius breezeway beside the monastery. Graduates are required to attend this rehearsal in order to walk in the graduation ceremony that evening. If you are not at graduation rehearsal, you do not walk in the ceremony. Any conflicts should be discussed with Dr. Edler ahead of time.

  • Immediately following mass and any pictures you wish to take in your regalia, graduates are to report back to Borromeo Hall to return your regalia. Guests and other students are not allowed in Borromeo Hall. We do ask that you join the reception under the Pius Breezeway as soon as you have turned in all regalia items as your guests will be waiting to celebrate with you.

  • After graduating, Saint Joseph Seminary College will send one official transcript free of charge to the location of your choice. The transcript will be mailed to the address your provide on the form found at the link below. Keep in mind that these transcripts will not be sent until after all final grades and your degree are posted on the transcript.
