Please find below the plan for returning to Saint Joseph Seminary College to get your personal property. Please note that “Seminarians” in this policy refers to all men enrolled during the Spring 2020 semester:

I. Seminarians not returning in Fall 2020

a. Move out of your room May 23-24, 2020.
b. Please leave your room key, post office box key, and library card in your room.

II. Graduating Seniors not returning in Fall 2020

a. Option 1: Move out of your room May 23-24, 2020.
b. Option 2: Move out of your room in July 2020 after the graduation ceremony, tentatively set for July 17, 2020.

III. Seminarians returning in Fall 2020

a. Option 1: Leave everything in your room until you return in August 2020.
b. Option 2: Move out of your room May 23-24, 2020.

IV. Seminarians staying at Notre Dame this summer

a. Please get everything you need for the summer May 23-24, 2020.
b. You may leave what you do not need in your room until you return in August 2020.

Guidelines

1) Please do not return if you are not feeling well or have reason to believe you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

2) Please bring and wear a face mask and gloves. Please maintain social distancing.

3) Only seminarians are allowed in the dorms. No exceptions.

4) Please only enter your dormitory. The Abbey Church, Oratory, Christ Court Chapel will be open. All other spaces are closed.

5) If you need to spend the night in your room, that is fine. No guest rooms in the seminary or monastery will be available.

6) The student refectory will be closed and meals will not be available.

7) Sunday Mass will be celebrated in the Oratory.

8) SJASC assumes no liability for the items in your rooms.

We encourage you to coordinate with the other seminarians in your diocese to send as few men as possible. If you give your DB permission, he can pack up your things and bring them back for you.
